SEATING & PATIO: 2015
As it was, the area was not big enough to have a table and chairs - (a must, for outside dining).
So for the next stage, the idea was to have a bigger patio area, with seating and raised borders.
THE WALL & DRAINAGE
Knowing the water naturally came down the hill and made the area very damp, I again had to incorporate some drainage,
to divert the water away from the house.
The supporting wall was not looking in good shape, so may as well start somewhere!

PATIO AREA
The wall now built, I moved on to clearing 'tons' of dirt.
As there is no access from the front to the back of the house, the only option was to use a spade and bucket.
Unfortunately, that meant up and down the steps as well, but I definitely got fit!

It kept raining, so I had to come up with plan B, which was using a gazebo, so I could start on the second wall.
Oh yes...and more drainage, (which meant I could add links to it, as I went up the garden).
Not forgetting the land drain cover, as a 'lid' for the fire-pit.
PATIO COMPLETE

Stage one of the patio area finished, with seating, a fire-pit, little cupboard for garden tools,
cubby hole for wood and lights fitted into the step walls.
The second set of steps were put in, as I had the idea of having patio doors from the lounge to outside. (At a later date!)
PATIO BORDER: 2017

To finish off the area, I built another border wall for a flowerbed,
to frame the patio area and break up the monotony of the bricks.
The end result of this build/project, can be found on level 2.
Or should I say 'Chapter 2' - "The Walls Come Tumbling Down" ....
