"AND THE WALLS CAME TUMBLING DOWN" : 2016/17

New neighbours next door and unfortunately, the first set of builders they hired,
did not realise, that you cannot remove masses of dirt, without shoring it up.
As they excavated the land, our border/garden just kept falling in the big hole.

Thankfully, they got a new builder who knew what he was doing.
The wooden forms show where the boundary line is.
Luckily, none of the building work already completed was damaged,
but there was a time, I was worried the shed would not make it!

Lots of reinforced concrete later and a 'new' project is on the cards.  (Not one I had planned!)
I think we need more than a cliff edge, so need to make it safe...mmm
LEVEL 2: THE BOUNDARY WALL/TRELLIS & LAWN : 2017

Knowing a new hedge would not quite be safe enough to stop someone falling through the other side (and over the edge),
I wanted something very secure.  At the same time I also had to raise the bed, as the majority of it was now just rubble.

It had been the plan to try and level the lawn, so it was easier to mow.
As it was like a builders paradise, it seemed the best time to do it all in one go.
Finally finishing off with a bit of greenery and extra filter, I put in a beech hedge.

Final photo was taken Spring 2018, with the new flowerbed showing signs of colour.
Level 2 complete.
